Conflict of Interest ARTICLE XV. CONFLICT OF INTEREST A. Personal Financial Interest 1. In carrying out the duties of Tribal office, no Tribal Official, elected or appointed, shall make or participate in making decisions which involve a personal financial interest other than an interest held in common by all Tribal members. This clause in the Constitution is pretty explicit. It does not authorize abstentions in which Councilors have no listed conflicts. Councilors got voted in to work and abstaining because you are not ready or do not have enough information, Councilors need to vote.
