Hotel for OCR? When the casino was built, it was designed from the bottom up to have a large hotel resort attached to it. Not just the building but the entire business plan. The funders wouldn’t fund the hotel but still wanted the large casino. So, we are kind of upside down, no hotel with an over built casino. In the mean-time, we built a hotel across the street?? Hotels in Petoskey do well and more are being built. Now that the casino is paid off it’s time to figure out how to attach a hotel and conference center. I don’t say this lightly and don’t think it will be easy, but if others can build hotels in Petoskey, so can we! What about the current hotel? I’d love to see it transformed into housing, a boarding house, transitional housing, even elder’s housing. Just an idea.
